Solo vs segment — Who builds the block (DATUM Config → Pool Host)
A DATUM node is the DATUM gateway that builds blocks. A segment is you running that node — optionally pointed at our coordinator. Connecting an ASIC to someone else’s DATUM node is joining their pool. Pool Host is a field on your gateway, never on the ASIC.

Keep that one gateway (CONVOY #pow, Ocean, Paulscode, iohzrd). Paste Pool Host pool.routehash.com, Pool Port 28915, and the pubkey from Connect. Collaborative reward sharing = prefer. Pool Pass User = On. Pool Pass Workers = Off. ASICs stay on that miner port. One DATUM per box — a second gateway is a second miner port.
StartOS: Knots, no DATUM yet?
Sideload RouteHash Gateway. It installs DATUM next to your Knots; ASICs stay on this gateway’s miner port. Prefills Pool Host pool.routehash.com, Pool Port 28915, Collaborative reward sharing = prefer, Pool Pass User = On, Pool Pass Workers = Off. Package id routehash-gateway does not replace datum. If you already run DATUM, paste Pool Host there instead. Independent: leave Pool Host blank after install.
